Thazhakkara Grama Panchayat is a panchayat comprising Vettiyar village under Mavelikara taluk in Alappuzha district. The area of the panchayat is 25.26 square kilometers. The boundaries of the panchayat are Achankovilar in the north, Mavelikkara Municipality in the west, Mavelikkara Thekkekkara and Chunakkara panchayats in the south, and Nooranad panchayats in the east.
